We stop managing DNS: what changes and how to manage them yourself

Namecase stops offering DNS record management for domains. We explain who is affected, what doesn’t change, how to move your DNS to a provider like Cloudflare step by step, and what we’re adding in return.

Machine translation of the original (Español).

We are going to stop managing DNS records for domains. Starting 01/10/2026, custom DNS records (the ones that indicate where your website is, who receives your email, or which services verify your domain) will be managed wherever you choose: at your hosting provider, at Cloudflare, or at any other DNS service.

We made this decision to devote all our effort to what matters most to you from us: securing the domains you’re looking for, improving the quality of captures and the services we provide. DNS management is today a service that specialized providers offer very well, often for free, giving you more control.

We know this is an inconvenience. That’s why we explain how to do it step by step, we’ll help you if you need it, and to make up for it we’re adding some services at no cost to you.

Are You Affected?

Yes, if your domain uses our nameservers (ns1.nidomans.com and ns2.nidomans.com) and has custom records: a website (A or CNAME records), email (MX records), or email verifications and signatures (TXT, SPF, DKIM records).

No, and you don't need to do anything, if:

  • your domain already uses nameservers from another provider;
  • your domain has no custom records and only shows the parking page;
  • your domain is for sale in our marketplace.

They do not change the registration, renewal, or ownership of your domains, nor your pending backorders and captures. Only where your DNS records live changes.

Dates

When What happens
From today You can take your DNS to another provider whenever you want
31/12/2026 We stop serving custom DNS records

Until 31/12/2026 your records continue to work exactly as they do today. We recommend making the change as soon as possible: take a few minutes and so you don't depend on the date.

What you need to do

  1. Write down the records you have now. You can see them in the panel where you manage your domain. If you prefer, ask us for a copy and we will send it to you.
  2. Choose where you will manage your DNS. Your hosting provider usually includes it; if not, Cloudflare offers it for free (guide below).
  3. Create your records there, the same ones you had.
  4. Change the domain's name servers to those indicated by your new provider. If you cannot do this yourself, write to us and we will do it for you.
  5. Check that everything works: your website and your email. The change may take a few hours to appear across the Internet (up to 24–48 hours).

If you copy your records before step 4, the change does not interrupt anything: the old and new servers respond the same way while the change propagates.

Step by step with Cloudflare

Cloudflare offers DNS management on its free plan, with a complete dashboard and a global network.

  1. Create an account at cloudflare.com, or log in to the one you already have.
  2. Add your domain ("Add a domain") and choose the Free plan.
  3. Review the records Cloudflare proposes. Cloudflare tries to copy your current records, but it may miss some: unusual subdomains and email signatures (DKIM TXT records) are the ones most likely to slip through. Compare them with your list from step 1 and add any that are missing.
  4. Leave email records unproxied. The records used by email (MX and the names they point to) should remain "DNS only", with the grey cloud. For your website you can enable the proxy (orange cloud) if you want Cloudflare's features.
  5. Point to the two name servers assigned to you by Cloudflare (of type nombre.ns.cloudflare.com).
  6. Change your domain's name servers to those two (or ask us to do it).
  7. Wait for confirmation. Cloudflare will notify you by email when your domain is active. From that moment on, you manage your records there, whenever you want.

If your domain has DNSSEC active, write to us before step 6: it must be deactivated before the change and reactivated afterwards in Cloudflare.

Other providers

The steps are the same with any DNS provider: create the domain zone, copy the records, change the name servers, and verify. If your website is hosted elsewhere, first check whether your hosting provider already includes DNS management: it’s usually the simplest option.

What we added in return

To compensate for this inconvenience, we've added for you, at no cost:

  • [extra service 1]
  • [extra service 2]
  • [extra service 3]

We'll give you the details in the coming weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay anything? No on our part. Many providers include DNS management, and Cloudflare offers it for free in its Free plan.

Will my website or email be taken down? No, if you create your records with the new provider before changing the name servers. During propagation, the old and new servers respond the same.

What happens if I do nothing? Until 31/12/2026, nothing: everything works as today. After that, domains that remain on our servers will stop using their custom records and show the parked page: your website and your email will stop working until you make the change. Your domain is still yours.

Can you do it for me? We help you: we can send you a copy of your records and change the name servers of your domain when you have the new provider ready. Write to us.

Will I lose my records? No, if you copy them before the deadline. If you need it, request a copy before 31/12/2026 and we will send it to you.

Who do I ask? Reply to the email you will receive or contact support from the panel.
