Closure of Nidoma DNS service
DNS record management in Nidoma is disabled: you cannot add new records or modify existing ones. Currently, we only keep active the DNS zones that existed when the service management was disabled, with the configurations frozen at that time.
On December 1, 2026 we will permanently stop providing custom DNS zone service. From that date, we will stop responding to queries for the corresponding records, including the MX records needed to receive email. To ensure continuity of your website and email, you must move DNS management to another provider before that date.
We made this decision to adapt a company like ours to the European regulatory framework, considering that currently there are specialized providers offering excellent DNS management services, often free, and that give you greater control.
We know this change is inconvenient. That's why we explain how to proceed step by step and we help you if needed.
Does this change affect you?
Yes, if your domain uses our name servers (ns1.nidomans.com and ns2.nidomans.com) and has custom records: a website (A or CNAME records), email (MX records) or email verification and authentication (TXT, SPF or DKIM records).
No, and you don't need to do anything, if:
- your domain already uses name servers from another provider;
- your domain has no custom records and only shows Nidoma's parking page;
- your domain is for sale in our marketplace.
They do not change the registration, renewal, or ownership of your domains, nor the backorders and pending orders. Only the location where DNS records are managed changes.
The deadline
DNS management is already disabled. Until the service closure on December 1, 2026, we will keep the previously configured records operational, with no possibility to add or modify them.
From December 1, 2026 we will stop serving custom DNS records, including MX records. If you haven't completed the migration, your website and email reception will stop working with these configurations.
You can move DNS management to another provider now. We recommend completing the change well in advance to have enough time to verify that all services work correctly.
What you need to do
- Save a copy of the currently configured records. You can view them in the domain management panel. If you prefer, ask us for a copy and we will send it to you.
- Choose where to manage your DNS. Your hosting provider usually includes this service; alternatively, Cloudflare offers it for free. The guide is provided later.
- Create the records in the new provider, copying those you already have configured.
- Replace the domain's name servers with those indicated by the new provider. If you cannot do it yourself, contact us and we will do it for you.
- Verify that everything works, especially the website and email. The change may take a few hours to propagate across the Internet and, in some cases, up to 24–48 hours.
To avoid interruptions, copy and verify all records before changing the name servers and complete the process well before December 1, 2026. This way, during propagation, both the old and new name servers can provide the same responses.
Step‑by‑step guide with Cloudflare
Cloudflare offers DNS management in its free plan, with a full panel and a global network.
- Create an account on cloudflare.com or log in to the one you already have.
- Add your domain («Add a domain») and select the Free plan.
- Review the records detected by Cloudflare. Cloudflare tries to copy the current records, but may not detect all of them: less common subdomains and email authentication records, such as DKIM TXT records, are most likely to be missed. Compare them with the list you prepared and add the missing ones.
- Keep email without proxy. MX records do not use the proxy. A, AAAA, or CNAME records for mail servers must also remain in «DNS only» mode, shown by the gray cloud. You can enable the proxy for the website, shown by the orange cloud, if you want to use Cloudflare's features.
- Note the two name servers assigned by Cloudflare, of the form name.ns.cloudflare.com.
- Replace the domain's name servers with those assigned by Cloudflare, or ask us to do it for you.
- Wait for confirmation. Cloudflare will email you when the domain is active. From then on you can manage the records directly in Cloudflare whenever you want.
If your domain has DNSSEC enabled, contact us before step 6: it must be disabled before the change and re‑enabled after on Cloudflare.
Other providers
The procedure is the same with any DNS provider: create the domain zone, copy the records, change the name servers, and verify that everything works.
If your website is hosted elsewhere, first check if the hosting service already includes DNS management: often it's the simplest solution.
Frequently asked questions
Can I continue modifying DNS records in Nidoma?
No. Management is disabled: we only temporarily keep the configurations that existed when service management was disabled. To add or modify records, you must move management to another provider.
Do I have to pay anything?
No, we don't. Many providers include DNS management and Cloudflare offers it for free in its Free plan.
Will my website or email experience interruptions?
The change can be made without interruptions if you correctly copy all records to the new provider before changing name servers and complete the migration well before the service closure. Always verify that the website and email work after the change.
What happens if I do nothing?
Until the service closure on December 1, 2026, the already configured records will continue to work, with no possibility to modify them. From that date we will stop serving custom records, including MX: the website linked to the previous configuration and email reception will stop working until you complete the change. Domains that remain on our name servers will show Nidoma's parking page. The domain will remain yours.
Can you take care of it for me?
We help you: we can send you a copy of the records and change the domain's name servers when you have completed the configuration on the new provider. Write to us.
Will I lose my records?
You can keep them by saving a copy before the service closure. If you need it, ask us for a copy before December 1, 2026 and we will send it to you.
